This afternoon, the 5th edition of the Surf and Turf Dinner was officially launched. The event will be held on Thursday May 16th, 2024, at 6 p.m., at the Centre culturel et communautaire Thérèse-De Blainville located at 120, boul. du Séminaire in Sainte-Thérèse. This fundraising evening in support of the Saint-Eustache Hospital Foundation (FHSE), aims to be a festive gathering that will allow businesses and residents of the Basses-Laurentides region to gather and brainstorm over a delicious buffet of beef and lobster!

This press conference, held at Desjardins, our Presenting Partner of the 5th edition of the Surf and Turf Dinner, yielded around twenty people. Many dignitaries attended, including the evening’s two honorary co-presidents, Liza Poulin, Mayor of Blainville, and Pascal Quevillon, Mayor of Oka. They addressed the guests and emphasized their commitment to the Fondation. Mrs. Poulin expressed how pleased she was to be named honorary co-president alongside Mr. Quevillon. She also highlighted the significance of supporting the Fondation: “When we engage in municipal politics, it’s to make a positive impact in our community, to strive towards enhancing the quality of life. This aligns with the Fondation’s mission, which aims to enhance healthcare services for the Lower Laurentians population”. Mr. Quevillon was honoured to share the co-presidency of the 5th edition of the Surf and Turf dinner with Mrs. Poulin. He highlighted the important role played by the Fondation Hôpital Saint-Eustache for the citizens of the Lower Laurentians: “We all have loved ones, family, or friends who have sought healthcare at the Hôpital de Saint-Eustache. You never know what might happen to you tomorrow or next week, so supporting the Foundation is vital. Personally, I’ve already broken my collarbone while mountain biking and had access to excellent hospital care myself. That’s why I invite you to show your support for the Foundation on May 16th. Thank you to the entire FHSE team for their involvement.”

Master of ceremonies Lyne Des Trois Maisons, Executive Director of FHSE, reiterated the Fondation’s mission and stressed the importance of participating in this type of fundraising event: “As you know, the Fondation’s mission is to support the Hôpital de Saint-Eustache by enabling the acquisition of state-of-the-art equipment and offering quality local care to the people of our community. If you drive past the hospital, you’ll notice that work on the new Nuclear Medicine Unit is well underway. This fall, we’ll be able to welcome our first patients! The Fondation is proud to have contributed $1 million toward the purchase of the Gamma Camera. Events like this one help us to acquire such equipment. Thank you in advance for your participation!”

Mr. Pierre Mayer, President of the Board of Directors of FHSE, highlighted that for $300 per ticket, guests will be treated to cocktails, clam chowder, a cold and hot buffet, an all-you-can-eat lobster and beef meal, a variety of sushi dishes, a selection of wines, desserts, and coffee. By participating, guests will spend an unforgettable evening in support of a great cause while experiencing a unique dining experience. In addition to individual tickets, those attending can buy tables for 8, 10, or 12 people. For each ticket purchased, a tax receipt for an amount to be determined will be provided after the event.

Afterward, Mrs. Amélie Pagé, Market Development Director at Desjardins, Caisse de Saint-Eustache—Deux-Montagnes, took the floor on behalf of Desjardins Laurentides Sud, stating: “Desjardins is very proud to once again act as the Presenting Partner of the 5th edition of the Surf and Turf Dinner. Together, we will continue to work towards a future where everyone has access to quality healthcare, contribute to medical innovation at our hospital, and allow those in need to receive the care their require close to home and near their family. Thank you for your involvement, and I look forward to seeing you on May 16th.”
