The 6th Edition of the Surf and Turf Dinner Raised a Total of $106,778.24 in Net Proceeds

The 6th edition of the Surf and Turf Dinner took place on Thursday, May 22, at the Centre culturel et communautaire Thérèse-De Blainville. The event raised $100,788.37 in net proceeds.

The evening, co-chaired by Christine Beaudette, Mayor of Boisbriand, and Julie Boivin, Mayor of Sainte-Anne-des-Plaines, was a resounding success. All funds raised will be used to purchase modern medical equipment for the Hôpital de Saint-Eustache, helping to enhance local healthcare for residents of the Lower Laurentians.

Presented by Desjardins, the event brought together representatives from the business, political, and local sectors. To make the fundraising more engaging, the co-chairs challenged attendees to raise an additional $3,000, with a promise to dress as sumo wrestlers if they succeeded. They did: raising a total of $3,776.75!

Pierre Mayer, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the FHSE and instigator of the event in 2018, was pleased to host the event.

“The Surf and Turf Dinner is an annual event that holds special meaning for me. Witnessing a full house and such enthusiastic support for our healthcare is truly inspiring. I appreciate everyone’s dedication.”

Lyne Des Trois Maisons, the Fondation’s Executive Director, emphasized the significance of these fundraising events:

“Thanks to your generosity, we raised $1,936,513 in 2024. We also paid invoices totalling $985,529 to the CISSS des Laurentides and made prioritizations of $263,045. In September 2024, our proudest moment was the launch of the Nuclear Medicine Unit, for which The Fondation contributed $1 million toward the purchase of the gamma camera and its Hermès computer system. In 2025, we aim to continue surpassing expectations for our community. We sincerely thank you for supporting the Fondation—YOUR Fondation!”

Guests enjoyed a fantastic menu prepared by Farsa Catering, featuring a fisherman’s chowder, a cold and hot buffet, an all-you-can-eat lobster and beef meal, a variety of sushi dishes, a selection of wines, desserts, and coffee. Each guest received a wooden cutting board as an attendance gift from our partner M Communications. Additionally, each table featured a centrepiece donated by Centre jardin Jacques Barbe for one guest to take.

The classic half-and-half draw raised $9,900, with $4,950 awarded to the winner, Isabelle Morissette.
